September is Hunger Action Month

Across Metro Atlanta, too many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on the table. At the very same time, millions of pounds of good, fresh food are going to waste every single day. Hunger Action Month is a reminder that we already have the resources to solve hunger — what we need is the will to act.

Second Helpings Atlanta is working harder than ever to connect surplus food with families who need it. But we can’t do it alone. This September, we’re asking our community to step up and take action in three meaningful ways:

  • Connect Us to Food Donors– Restaurants, retailers, farms, or suppliers with surplus food can make an enormous impact by becoming part of our network. Remember, there is no cost to food donors to donate.

  • Volunteer to Drive Routes – With just a few hours each month, you can help rescue thousands of pounds of food and deliver it directly to local agencies. It’s simple, fun, and delivers BIG impact!

  • Give Financially – Rising costs affect us just as they affect families. From fleet maintenance to insurance, every expense is going up. That’s why we’ve set a goal of 100 people committing to $25/month. For the cost of one takeout lunch, you can help us keep food moving year-round to neighbors who need it most.

Hunger Action Month is about more than awareness — it’s about action. Together, we can make sure good food feeds people, not landfills.
