May 2023 Impact Report

It’s just June and we’ve already rescued over 2 MILLION pounds of healthy, fresh food this year! 

Last year, we drove over 4.1 million pounds of food, along with 500,000+ complete meals to agencies here in Atlanta. Thanks to our amazing donors, volunteers, partner agencies, and supporters, we made it happen! Now, we’re on track to break those records again!

In May alone, our Food Rescue Network rescued 412,738 lbs of nutritious food from 77 donors across Georgia!

Through our Full Plates program, we provided 44,683 complete meals to those in need. All of this food was delivered to 96 partner agencies who worked tirelessly to distribute it across Atlanta.

A huge shoutout to our partner Retaaza for donating an incredible 3,240 pounds of zucchini from Georgia farms! Thank you for helping us rescue perfectly good food and make a difference in the lives of many!

We’re also thrilled to share that we rescued 2,500 lbs of food from the Taylor Swift Eras tour at Mercedes-Benz Stadium! Thank you to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for collaborating with us in our mission to fight hunger!

As temperatures rise, we’re working to ensure no child goes hungry this summer. During this season, 60% of Georgia’s students lose access to school meals, leaving them food insecure. Together, we’re combating hunger by rescuing fresh, healthy food and providing nutritious meals to support families during the summertime squeeze.
